hepaocyte isoltion protocol - (Apr/17/2008 )

Hi,

Does anyone have a hepatocyte isolation protocol including the amount of gelatin to add to coat the plate etc. I'm new to this and thus all information would be helpful

I would recommend getting a book "Culture of Animal Cells" by Ian R. Freshney from your local university library. It is excellent and gives all the basics techniques used in cell culture, including primary culture.

If you haven't done cell culture before I recommend getting someone experienced to show you how to work in a hood and the techniques used for culturing cells. I would also recommend practicing on some ordinary cells to get the sterile techniques down before trying with precious liver samples.
