viability assay - for bacteria, fungi - microbes in general! - screening library (Apr/09/2008 )

I need an assay that i can use to screen a library for antimicrobial activity. I need something that i can test against bacteria/ fungi etc

any ideas?

I recommend performing agar dilutions using a steers replicator or microbroth dilutions. If you really want to go nuts, you can use flow cytometry which would actually tell you which cells are dead vs alive in any given culture with the exposed antimicrobial agent.
