Please help me with ELISA - Need help with ELISA basics and instrumentation (Apr/04/2008 )

Hi, My new research project requires ELISA and nobody in my lab has ever worked with it. I even have to order a cheap instrument for ELISA by myself. I desperately need help in developing the ELISA against total IgG. Also, please guide me as to which instrument (cheap but good) I should buy and where can I find information about the instruments.

awareness elisa reader can be a good option.

Before going out and buying any reader, I would check with labs nearby to you. You may be able to borrow one of their plate readers- saving you money and making you popular with the boss

Cant find any plate reader in the nearby labs. I would try to look for awareness reader. Please suggest some other readers as well. Also, it would be great, if you could point me to some good books or website for more information about ELISA.
