Fluorescent microscopy - question about filter sets (Mar/20/2008 )
Dear all,
I would like to know the meaning of some information that is included in the filters for fluorescent scopes> for example, for DAPI, the excitation filter wavelenght is EX 360/40... what is the meaning of the "/40" pice of information? is that a +-40?
Thanks for your help guys!!

Hi,
It means that it is 360+-20. So it is between 340 and 380.
Hope it helps,

It's the entire bandwith, meaning that you go up and down by the half of 40 starting from 360. So a 510/10 bandpass filter would go from 505-515.
