pyruvate carboxylase - pyruvate carboxylase (Mar/13/2008 )

the gene of pyruvate carboxylase..is switched off in other tissues ( expecially the muscle) exept the liver and the kidney? o could it, like in the reaction anaplerotics increase the circle of Krebs?

do you mean if it is tissue-specific or housekeeping? why should it be off in the muscles if it is involved during exercise?

I have readed on my sistematic biochemestry book that this enzyme isn't present...but I haven't understend why ..?
moreover I have searched on pub med... and there was writed in a article that this anzyme is presents in heart muscle
