serum depletion prior to treatment - (Feb/25/2008 )

hi guys,

how long does everyone here serum deplete prior to treating their secondary cells in vitro... some people in my new institution serum starve for 18 hours prior to treatment, some just 1 hour.... any thoughts?

I am serum starving my cells overnight (16 hrs) before treatments.

It depends on cell type and experiment. Some for short period and some for longer periods.
