Phenol Removal of DNA Preparation - (Feb/15/2008 )

hallo,

my ratio A260/280 is little below 1,7 (1.67, 1.5) which is due to phenol contamination. do i have to get rid of this phenol before PCR? and how can i do this?

Chloroform or ether extraction, followed by ethanol precipitation.
