Influence bacteria on ELISA - (Jan/21/2008 )

Hi everybody,

I just started a new assay to evaluate the effect of bacteria on whole blood:

-I incubate whole blood with my bacteria
-After 24h, I determine certain cytokine levels in the supernatants using sandwich ELISAs

My question is: if there are bacteria in the sups, does this influence ELISA results?

hi,

in ur ELISA, have bacteria alone (same number as in blood) as control, then u can relize if at all there is any effect.
