A CO2 independent medium limit the range of cell types that can be investigated? - (Jan/15/2008 )
I am developing a cell culture chip without placing the chip into a 5% CO2 incubator during cell culture. it means that the cell culture chip stays in atmospheric conditions during whole operation. Therefore, I plan to use a CO2-independent medium, supplemented by Hank's salt, in the chip for cell culture. However, will a CO2-independent medium limit the range of cell types that can be investigated?

The obvious answer is yes.
But why do you want to grow cells in atmospheric conditions ?
