Does ABI's Power SYBR Green need vortex befor used? - Vortex is necessary? (Jan/15/2008 )
Some protocols said that Power SYBR Green Master Mix need to be vortexed before used.When I made a mix which inclueds SYBR Green master mix, cDNA and water, I wonder to know if the vortex is necessary.And I don't know if the vortex will damage the enzyme's activity.

With the SYBR green I use it says to mix thoroughly with a pipette and not to vortex as this may introduce bubbles which can affect the real time.

I use Power Sybr Green from ABI and never have vortexed it. Once I've prepared the mastermix (with primers and water), I give it a quick spin to mix well the components and that's it.
