How to fix Pseudomonas in Nutirent broth - (Jan/11/2008 )

Hi,

Does any one know how to fix or Kill Pseudomonas in Nutrient broth. WHen I use formaldehyde no matter what concentration I use The cells look so active and motile.

that's odd - we do this in our lab often. Are you sure your not getting bowian movement? Can you pellet the cells, remove the NB, and then fix them?
You may also try a ATPase inhibitor to kill the cells, such as cyanide. Or an antibiotic.
