How to stain protein fiber to view in light microscopy? - (Jan/01/2008 )

Hi all biggrin.gif

I have a problem here.

Recently i have to view some protein precipitates under a light microscope.

I stained the samples with coomasie blue. i was able to view some precipitate like stuffs. HOwever i was unsure if it were proteins.

As such is there any way for me to view the precipitates?

Any help is aprreciable. Thank you wub.gif

You can filter or quick spin the coomassie blue stain solution before hand to remove large particles. The dye binds to proteins very quickly, you can then wash it quickly with 50% EtOH to remove stain. Be sure not to let the stain dry out you would have less concerns.
