How can I transform GFP into recA -/- E. coli? - (Nov/26/2007 )

I have trouble to introduce the GFP into a recA -/- E. coli strain. Is this normal? Hope to get some tips. Thanks.

a little more details wouldl help. What is exactly is the problem you are facing. Tell us all the details.
What plasmid expression plasmid are you using? Have you remembered to add the promoter, shidalgano sequence, terminator Have you sequenced you GFP gene to make sure everything is correct and in frame? Do you want to look at green GFP bacteria? If so perhaps the promoter you are using is too strong? A cell absolutely stuffed full with GFP protein isn't going to like it or live very long.
