Double mRNA/alcian blue detection - Cristian (May/17/2004 )

Has anybody done ever a double detection of mRNA in situ hybridization and Alcian Blue cartilague staining? Please, I need some help ... so after the alcian blue I loose my signal from the in situ. Moreover, after the in situ the quality of the cartilague staining drops down quite a bit.

It does not work in my hands. Dozens of labs worldwide have reported failure similar to what you describe. I hope someone who knows how to make it work sees your post.
