Which direction to take my PhD in? - (Sep/08/2007 )

Hi all,

I've just recently passed my first year viva exam but don't know what to do next in my PhD sad.gif

So at the moment I'm synthesizing sugar substrates to use in an assay system but now that I'm almost done, I don't know how to develop my PhD for the next two years.....

Any ideas on what I can do?

I think there is a tendency to take a closer look at mitochondria in cancer; as cancer cells have a more active metabolism including sugar, won´t it be worthwhile to think of non-metabolizable sugar substrates which work as inhibitors of sugar catalyzing enzymes or transporters? I do not think that my idea is novel but the field seems to be wide...

If you have no ideas: read read read, and the ideas will come at sleep...
