Has anyone seen this type of squigly signal? - RTQPCR squigly signal (Sep/06/2007 )

Hi all,

Recently my real time PCR results show an unstable signal after it plateaus. I have not seen this before. I was wondering if anyone knows the cause of this?

My melting curves look normal, and C(t) values still fairly tight. But this data still bothers me. Could it be the lamp you think?

how long has it been since your bulb was replaced? it can give wacky data if it's going out...

what about an overall machine checkup? we had a 7700 that got really wierd for awhile, and we couldn't find any other reason and finally called the service guy. when he came out, he said the 'data cable was corrupting the data'. when he replaced a cable, it was fine after that

have you checked the wells for background fluorescence? I don't think that's the problem, just something that affects consistency of data
