Changing Valine to Leucine - (Sep/05/2007 )

Friends, could any one of you please tell me what could be the impact if I change an amino acid Valine to Leucine in the beginning of a gene?? or what would be the right amino acid which could give the same effect as Valine on folding???thank you

Since Val and Leu are fairly similar amino acids, you might expect the change to be minimal, but it's impossible to predict the effects for sure without complex protein structure studies/modelling etc.
