Desiccate chemicals for storage - (Aug/02/2007 )

I have a bottle of Ferric Ammonium Citrate which is labeled "Desiccate". Does that mean that I need to purchase a glass desiccator to store this bottle in after it's been opened, or can I place packets of desiccate in the bottle?

Try to wrap it around the openning with a piece of parafilm. It will do the same. rolleyes.gif

It would be best if you had it stored in a dessicator, but if you can't do that then add some packets of dessicant (make sure they can't contaminate the chemical) and the wrap the top in parafilm.

Parafilm by itself won't dessicate the chemical but it will prevent more water getting in.
