Labeling of bacteria with fluorescent probe - In search of protocol!!! (Aug/01/2007 )

I am looking for protocol on labeling of bacteria with fluorescent probe. I am working on Echerichia coli and Lactobacillus casei shirota.

I would go to Invitrogen's website and go to the Molecular Probes section - they have a ton of general information and kits. it all depends on your application...?
