automatic cell counting for Microscope images - (Jun/24/2007 )
Hi friends!
I have adquiered a lot of pictures (more than a hundred) from my fluorescence microscope and I have to count 200-300 cells from each picture. The images are very clear (DAPI and so on) so I guess software can help me to count cells automaticly. I have tried unsuccessfully with imageJ but maybe there is some plug-ins that I don't know. Can you help me?
Any help will be really really wellcome.
Regards,
Antonio

You can use the "cell counter" plug-ins. If you cannot find any in your image J, try to install it from image J official website.

after you install the plug-ins, it will be much much much easier for you to calculate the cell number. good luck
HI friends!!
Thank you for your kind answer, Delimartin. I already downloaded and instaled the cell counter plug-in for ImageJ. THe problem is that as far as I could discover, it is not very automatic, I mean, you have to mark every single cell and the plug-in just scores for you. I'm looking for an automatic system that selects the cells for you or at least facilitates the selection through a threshold. Do you know if that is posible?
THank you very much,
