Differentiation of mammary epithelia - (Dec/16/2003 )

Hello! I am trying to induce organoid formation in bovine mammary epithelial cells using type 1 rat-tail collagen gel as the substrate for cell attachment. Does anybody have a reliable protocol for mammary cell differentiation? Please contact me if you do. Thank you.

Seed cells in collagen gel at various concentrations and see which gives you aggregate formation over time without causing overgrowth. Some epithelial cells may not form aggregates readily in collagen gel, so a different method may need to be tried. Perhaps you could seed a very large number of cells in a small collagen gel to get aggregate formation.
