Adenoviral Transfection - cells to check transfection efficiency (May/26/2007 )
Hi,
Which cells would be the easiest to use and the best to check for transfection efficiency using adenoviral vectors?
Thanks.

My old lab used HEK293.

Well, we are using HEK293 to construct/package the virus. Then we need to transfect some kind of model cells to check for expression. So we are looking for cells that are the easiest to transfect and give a high expression.
Maybe we can use HEK293 for the same?
Thanks.

Maybe it makes more sense if you pick a human cell line that is originated from a particular organ that is related to your study objective. For titering HeLa, A549 or any other epithelial cell lines would work.
