Senescence Induction - (May/25/2007 )

I am trying to find a protocol to induce senescence in a cell line. Thanks for any comment.

strong implications with senescence have telomerases: dys-function or absence as in telomerase-deficient mice show increased senescence and apoptosis; therefore, great efforts are undertaken to establish telomerase inhibitors in (breast) cancer therapy;

try to use commercially available telomerase inhibitors (f.i. Calbiochem)

TNF-alpha is also known to induce senescence
