Oh really!? I thought as said by someone "bacteria is the only CULTURE many labs have! ". Still I am proud of my lab which is known for decipline, freedom, co-operation, NO hirarchies within the lab and smart work!

Our lab culture is:
1. Do what you want except annoying/disturbing/threaten others.
2. Follow all rules or the boss and all collegues curse you (if he sees the blasphemy ).
3. Have results otherwise see No 2.
4. Make sure that you have your own money.

Last week.
Pf - How's your work?
Me - I have started my protocol . . .umm . . .
(cut in the middle)
Pf- Are you enjoying it?
Me - Umm, Yes!
Pf - That's what is important. Good.
Just before my General Exam to enter PhD, in a lab meeting :
Me : So, I'll retry this week, with more DNA...
PI : Good. By the way, your exam is in a month... Do you plan to stop working to study?
Me : Euhm.. Well yeah, I though of taking two weeks off, to finish my mini-thesis and study.
PI : Excellent. And don't worry for your work. You can pass your experiment to Alex (the lab assistant). And your exam will be fine!
I have a really good PI. He understands us and give us the credit of what we could find. It is also possible to disagree when we talk. And if we are right, he concedes. My colleagues are also really cool. So, I guess my lab culture, other than bacterian, is really nice.
