Your Account Hacked! - Attention Everyone (May/16/2007 )
I had a very funny day today. I was talking to a fren in yahoo messenger when the fren on the other side starts talking something really unusual. She starts by saying something about phone card in pakistan. I was confused. Then says 'your yahoo account has been hacked'. I thought the fren is just kidding. Then she tells me my yahoo password. What is the first thing one would do? Yes, I thought of changing my yahoo password but could not. My yahoo password was already changed by the hacker but I continue to chat with the Hacker whom I now knew to be someone trying those stuffs over internet. So, all this time I was chatting to a hacker who had hacked into my fren's Yahoo Account and was chatting with me as her. WoW!!
Somehow I was able to talk him to give me the new password and that he did apologising for the prank. He even told me my fren's new password and asked me to tell my fren to change the password.
I changed my password immediately. But, I am still concerned if he has bugged my yahoo account. I thought of terminating that yahoo account but the biggest problem . . . I FORGOT THE NEW PASSWORD I MADE. I try recovering by going to 'I forgot my password' and filling in the form but it does not work. I even tried the option of providing my credit card number to yahoo service to change my password but even that failed.
Anyone has any suggestions?
Right now because I tried many times, my account has been locked for 24 hours by the server but I will have to try again tomorrow.
forget about this account, and start a new account
try not to add foreign people to your messenger
This is very scary.
I hope everything will turn out OK for you.
Haha.. I always have this thing that I wouldnt add those I havent really meet in person. I am being very skeptical I guess.
Sad thing is I lost one fren whom I have been talking to for years.
I wonder why I cant get my account back even when I tried that 'I forgot my password' section of yahoo. Might be that the hacker changed my profile too so it does not match any longer.
I had no one whom I have not met in person in the contact list except two whom I can trust blindly. It's not them. I must have been decieved into some 'phising site' somehow. I don't know.
Just want to tell you guys to be careful but dunno how. This is a safe network I am using and in the lab computer we have a trusted anti-virus and firewall and I don't download or go to any unknown site from this computer. God knows how that guy did that. He must be a brilliant guy. Hope he gets into research rather than using up his brain in something that bad.
