how to extract proteins form SDS PAGE gels which are silver stained

maybe electroelution should be done. In coomassiestain, proteins precipitate with acid. And what's the case with silver nitrate staining ?

I agree with fred 33 and also suggest electro elution (self-made or with special electro eluter);

silver can be destained with Farmers reagent

But the aminoacids with free NH2 groups after silver staining are modified by glytar aldehyde and oxidized. Is it critical for you?

now we have a big machine from biorad, it is bigger than our sequencing machine
i am not sure is it for protein extraction from SDS-PAGE but my prof take my SDS-PAGE and make some dot on the unknown band for further enquiry..........i will let you know if its work for protein extraction too. .its really big and i think expensive tooo
