Can some body suggest me the polymerase for amplification of gene for 123 kb size

try platinum taq by invitrogen, with or without proof reading........ good luck

123 kb??? do you mean 12,3?

If so, platinum taq should indeed do it, as should expand long template from roche, colleages of mine are succesful with PfuultraIIHS from stratagene.

OMG! If anybody know how to make a PCR product that long I humbly beg for your infinite wisdom.


If 12.3kb, another enzyme to add to the list is Phusion from Finzyme

I think bp in the gene is 3362. If i am not wrong then its protein size should be.
3362/3 = 1120 * 110 /1000 = 123.2 I think the gene is 123.2 kb. Am i right or wrong. please correct me.

If your gene is 3362 bases, then it's 3,362 kilo-bases or kb. (kb means 1000 bases).
