Storage of diluted antibodies - (Apr/02/2007 )
Hello everybody,
how long is possible to storage the diluted solutions of antibodies and where? Is possible to freeze them? How many times can they be reused? I have chicken primary and rabbit secondary/HRP, as blocking agent I use 2% BSA. Thanks very much!
I keep them few days at 4°C and several weeks at -20°C.
I reuse them up to three times, but it depends which antibody.
you have to try.

I add NaN3 (0.001 %) only to primary Ab´s, and store at 4°C for months; 2nd Ab´s are freshly diluted
Hi
I using primary antibody diluted in 1X PBS tween-20 (PBST) and 5% BSA with .001% Sodium azide at 4°C upto several months, give good result.

If you ever move into the wonderful world of in vitro diagnostics, you'll see that the antibody conjugates can be stable for up to 2 years. The diluent is essentially PBS plus BSA, with a preservative for the bug-killing part.
The easy way to let your mind be free of worry is prepare your AB, or conjugated Ab stock in PBS + 20% glycerol then prepare aliqotes in accord with you needs freeze and be free!
We have working antibody aliquots in -20C and the rest in -80C.
