DB3.1 resistance - (Mar/14/2007 )

Does anyone know if DB3.1 competent cells resist either streptomycine or ampiciline? Thanks in advance Mariana

DB3.1 cells are used to grow plasmids containing ccDB gene. I dont think they have resistance to antibiotics.

They are like any other cells used for transformation.

pUC19 is provided as a control plasmid, so I'm guessing that these cells will not be resistant to ampicillin, or the pUC19 would be useless.

DB3.1 is streptomycin resistant, but otherwise unmarked. See http://openwetware.org/wiki/E._coli_genotypes#DB3.1
