measuring H2O2 in 96 well plate 240 nm - (Mar/12/2007 )
is it possible to measure an analyte in 96 well plate at 240 nm. Or is it necessary to use quarz kuevette? tx for reply karpatov

If it absorbs at that wavelength, you can read it in a 96 well plate just like a cuvette.

I don't think peroxide will show up at all. I think you need to pop in some aminoantipyrine whih reacts with H202 and forms the quinonamine dye. This you will be able to read at 510nm. You need Na dichlorobenzenesulfonate in the reaction as well. Set up adequate blanks.

actually, it will show at 240nm. i have an old assay for catalase which is just enzyme, buffer and peroxide and the results are followed at 240nm (and, yes, i have run the assay. it works).

Nice one. Is the assay sensitive?

it's been more than 30 years since i used it but, if memory serves me correctly, it was at least as sensitive as i needed it to be. (i know that it is not a good answer but if you want to try it i can post the assay and you can try it for your purpose).
