How to dissolve PMA - (Mar/08/2007 )

I need to use PMA to induce monocytes into macrophage. The manual stated that it can be dissolved by DMSO or ethanol. Has anyone of you try this before? How is the procedure, where and how long can the solution can be kept?
will DMSO and ethanol disrupt the cell growth?
Need help urgently. Thank you!! sad.gif

as PMA is a very potent agent, you do not need high conc, higher than 1 µM is often not useful; what I like to say is that you should have a good dilution of your solvent; DMSO should be lower than 0.5 % in your cell culture; the less the better; run a control with DMSO but w/o PMA
