what is the difference between quantitative and semi quantitative assay???

quantitative = number, obtained from an experimental measure (ie a concentration from OD)
semi-quantitative = ratio, a measure relative to an internal control (ie fluorescence intensity relative to an isotype control, or the intensity of a band relative to the band of a housekeeping gene)
