I like reading about the falls of civilisation and empires. What are the factor/conditions and decision that lead a people who have endure 100s if not 1000s of years to collapes. Drawing parelles from these historic events to what we are doing today.
The signs are not good.
I dont really read about history a lot. But when time permits, I watch some documentry about old civilisations. Ancient architectural structures have always amazed me, like the pyramids, colloseum etc.
interesting

recently, i read about the famous assassinations...you can discover many of those who became kings, leaders, presidents...without a right..

I love collecting books and online information about history of ancient India starting from thousands of years back. I feel proud by the achievements made by Indians then but same time feel sad and hurt when nobody respects the ancient treasure and todays condition is deteriorating.
I would like to read all the dynasties and the three kingdom in China. Unfortunately, most of the books are in chinese and I cant read it! haha....
My last history book was from Bernhard Dixon: The fungi that made Kennedy a President (it was in german, this is a rough translation, I don't know if there is an english version). It is a kind of popular scientific history about the role of microorganisms in historic events. I think thats not what you wanted, but in "real" history books I'm not interested in the moment.
i don't know why, but some scientific history books are really boring
i love science history (from the time of aristotle to quantum physics) and world history (world wars, biographies, ancient civilizations).
I like history of religions...tao, buddhism, christianity, islam.....really fascinating. Also be caferul! history is very subjective, you read only what the writer wanted to tell you.
