SDS-PAGE and native PAge with BSA and albumin - (Mar/02/2007 )
I am an undergraduate student, just completed a prac with SDS-PAGE and native PAGE, the proteins used were BSA and albumin, Need to know the molecular weights of these two proteins, how many bands for each protein and why? as well as how far each protein should move and why? Pleas Help, URGENT??!!

bsa is bovine serum albumin. its molecular weight is ~67-68 kDa. as for "albumin", what is the source? ovalbumin is ~43 kDa.
the migration distance you should see depends on the acrylamide percentage. for a practical they will probably have the migration be around half-way.
