cell line rna extraction - (Feb/18/2007 )

Hi all
I'm working with H9C2 (rat myoblast ) and i'm performing rna and protein extraction. I get very low yield for both. I use rneasy mini columns for rna and m-per (pierce) for proteins. I usually obtain less than 1 ug rna and about 150 ug of total proteins from about 10e5 cells. Is that a reasonable yield? or is even too low with respect to the number of starting cells? Does anybody have experience and/or suggestions to share about this cell line?

This is a reasonable yield of RNA and protein extraction. If you cannot start with more cells, it will be difficult for you to have more RNA and protein.
