Check the literature of people who have used this plasmid in publications, and email the corresponding authors. Usually people are cooperative if they have things.

Hi, Thanxs for the reply.
I Have tried corresponding atleast six of the authors ! unfortunately none have replied me back!!! . Thats why I posted this message here. I did get 2 other plasmids from the authors, Only for this SV40 Im not able to get! I dont know what to do next. Getting down from ATCC will be too expensive for me and Im not in a position to pocket it out! Suggest me what to do.
Thanxs

that is unusual to get no positive feedback from so many authors; authors hesitate if someone is new in the field, or a stuff is also commercial available, or you missed to work out why you especially asked this author;
may be your supervisor can help to ask authors, or you find out if someone else in your institute/clinic is working with SV40, in most cases it will go fast

Thanxs for the message,
Well you are true, Im quite new in this field and also SV40 is commercially available. The only thing was its too expensive for me I couldnt afford. Thats why I kept mailing. Other thing as you stated i would have missed to work out as why I especially asked the author. But now I cant give them second mail, it wouldnt be nice!. Nobody else here in my institute or near by are working with this.
And if I told this to my supervisor he would ask me to forget the work and carry on to next. But this particular work would be a novel and substantial part in my PhD thats why I couldnt give up. Please try to help in this regard.
Thanx in advance,
Baranee

the only thing in your case - if you have no money to buy - is to ask other authors, there are many who work with SV40, and explain why you need this vector and explain your situation; do it in an official letter from your institute, mail it by pdf or as regular postage, not as a simple email; do not ask the same authors again

Maybe try Addgene: their plasmids are often less $$$$
