Hydrophobic proteins extraction? - (Apr/30/2002 )

Hello,
I look forward methods to extract hydrophobic proteins from yeast wall cells. I tried Triton X100 but it sounds that it is not that good help.
I'll be grateful to get any ideas, detailed protocols.

Hi,

for hydrophobic protein extraction, you can try to use SDS solubilization under sonication, but it is really charged! You can also try with Igepal (NP40 substitute) from sigma which is a powerfull uncharged solubilization detergent, you may also use sonication.
