paclitaxel - (Feb/02/2007 )

can anybody help me regarding my negative control?

I am planning to add paclitaxel to cell cultures, shoul I add cremophor EL and ethanol to my medium as negative control? unsure.gif
The paclitaxel we have available is already solubilised in those products

Is it solubilized in both? Please let me know and I will check with the person in my lab who uses it quite often. Ours is from Sigma, what about yours. If it is dissolved in one, can't you just use that as your control. Of course, you need to be certain what dilution is not harmful to cells. For instance, we dissolve vinblastine in DMSO, then dilute it 1:1000 into cultures. Therefore, our control is DMSO at 1:1000.

Let me know.
