problem wity plant extraction - (Feb/01/2007 )

HELLO TO ALL!!! hehe, im new here. I have question, im doing a plant extraction, using chloroform, and when i precipitate the dna seems there is a large amount of it, i mean i add isopropanol and before y centrifugue it, i can see the particular form of the dna as it happens with blood extraction. But in electrophoresis, theres no dna; what do u think the problem is? isnt that really dna?

did you add sodium acetate with the isopropanol and incubate o/n at -20C? if not add it, plus have to rinse the isop with 70% EtOH 2X cetrifuge between ea. step then dry the pellet well or the etoh could inhibit many rx.
