what is the different function among three antibio - (Apr/13/2003 )

Please! I am confused by three antibiotics, what is the different function of the following : kanamysin, neomysin, and G-418?

Also, I have got another question. I want to clone rpsL gene ( streptomysin ), but I am not able to indentity its promoter sequence, how long shoud I take as its promoter. Please give me a help, it is urgent. Thanks a lot.

antibiotics are all antibacteria. the important thing is which vector contains resistant gene to which antibiotics, so you can use different antibiotics to select your positive clones.

What is this rpsL gene? in which organism? why don't you check the genome database to find the sequence for this gene?
