How long to store 1% agarose gels? - (Jan/16/2007 )

I totally agree with scolix.
Personally, I don't like to keep the agarose gel. I prefer to prepare it fresh.
However, I have seen seniors prepared the gel and soaked in the buffer overnight at room temperature. Some just wrapped it up and kept in 4 OC and soaked in the buffer before use.

I prefer to stain with EtBr after the running (less waste if use seal container that don't let the light in and reuse) and the company sigma aldrich sells a filter for EtBr that is cheap and easy to use.
