making Ficoll gel loading buffer - (Jan/11/2007 )

I am having trouble with my Ficoll loading buffer. The Ficoll precipitates out of solution, and as a result the buffer doesn't work - the samples float out of the wells. Is there a trick to making this buffer? I am using the standard recipe: 15% (w/v) Ficoll 400, .25% bromophenol blue, .25% xylene cyanol in ultrapure water. The pH of my water is ~6.5.

Any suggestions?
Thanks,

it must be mixed well; better you vigorously shake your sample buffer solution over night to get it fully mixed
