primer for real-time and reverse transcriptase PCR - (Jan/09/2007 )

I am wondering whether the primer for real-time can be used for reverse transcriptase PCR and wheterh the primer for reverse transcriptase PCR can be used for real-time. I have no idea.

Hi there,

there shouldn't be a problem as real time primers are more stringent than normal PCR primers. But it depends on your application, if the primers and realtime/RT-PCR are meant to confirm you normal PCR results, I don't see why not. The normal problem is whether normal PCR primers can be used for realtime.
