Alu repeat search - (Dec/26/2006 )
Dear All,
We are interested in identifying potential Alu repeats in our sequence of interest. As per our knowledge Alu family is wide and varied and while searching for these what consensus sequence to look for? We have tried to search for published Alu sequences in the NCBI but do not get them exactly as published.What softwares are available for such an analysis. We do not have a UNIX with us so cannot use Repeatmasker.

You can get a UNIX virtual machine running on windows.
