Amplifying pathogen DNA in total DNA extractions - (Dec/16/2006 )
hi
is phenol:chloroformisoamyl (25:24:1) better than chloropform: isoamyl alcohol (24:1) to get rid of protiens in DNA extractions?

i would think so. If i am not mistaken, phenol is the protein denaturation agent, chloroform separate the phenol from the water DNA solution. And isoamyl alcohol is the anti-foaming agent.

phenol:chloroform is enough to get rid of protein
