Establishing cell lines from brain tumor tissue samples - (Dec/06/2006 )

I want to establish cell lines from brain tumor tissue I got.I don’t know if this word is appropriate in this context, since the tissue will contain normal astrocytes etc as well. Is it possible to get rid of the normal cells? Does anyone have a protocol how I have to proceed, starting from the point at which I thaw the tissue samples? Or can anyone suggest a good publication, where I can find a good protocol? Every hint is appreciated!

Thank you very much. In fact I do have a protocol for (murine, but it's quite the same) hippocampal cells, but I have heard that it is not appropriate for the brain tissue which I have. I must admit: I don't know why...
