Any kit out there for protein and RNA isolation from monocytes? - (Nov/15/2006 )
We'd like to isolate proteins for Western and RNA for RNA protection assay
out of monocytes; does anyone know of a good kit to do that?

Hello,
For RNA you can try Dynal Monocyte mRNA Isolation Kit which works fine, I've used it.
The problem is the cost (high, in my country) and a special magnetic device that you need in order to perform washing steps.
If you are working on cell lines, you may also try a very common TriZOL (or equivalent reagent: TRI, PureZOL, etc).
