How a copy no.& insert no. could be find out in a transgenics - (Nov/14/2006 )

Hi
During transgenic creation a gene of interest could insert as full gene or partial fragmentation may occur. So how one could find out if there are more than one copy that is it a full gene cassette or fragmented gene part. ???????

thanx

This must be an old method of making transgenics.

Sequence you cassette....

though the problem would probably be multiple tandem array insertions.

This isn't an issue if your using standard transposase or another recombinase system. What about the targetting homology regions flanking your gene (to be inserted). Those should really make this less of an issue.
