Sod. Azide vs Sterilization - (Nov/02/2006 )

Filter sterilizing solutions is such a pain in the gluteals.
Can we just add sod. azide to solutions we dont want bugs growin' in?
Actually asking for lysis buffers.
will it affect the behaviour of other components?

Nah, mate. Just make up fresh. You could add azide (well, you probably add it to your buffers anyway) but how many freeze thaws will your lysis solution tolerate?
