Are there TGFB receptors in 293T cells? - ..and if you don't know, how would you find out? (Nov/01/2006 )
This is a long shot, but does anybody know off the top of their head whether 293T cells (a common human cell line) typically express TGFB (transforming growth factor beta) receptors? What would be the simplest way to find out this information? I realize I could do an experiment, but I'd rather not waste the time and reagents if somebody else already has already done the work. I just get lost sometimes in the wild world of bioinformatics.

In this paper http://www2.umdnj.edu/rhlabweb/publications/2002/1.pdf the authors treat 293T with TGFB1 to study the TGF pathway... I would assume the cells express TGFB receptor...

Thank you, dnafactory!
Woohoo! I'm off to set up a bazillion little plates of 293 cells now.
